So when you're married to a photographer, there is no such thing as "just a day trip." It's always a location scouting trip :)
Recently, my husband's Aunt came to Texas for a visit. We promised her that leaving Oregon in November for Central Texas would be great - flip flops and shorts. Instead, we got the coldest week in Texas history. So pardon the fact that everyone looks like they are freezing!
The Vineyards at Florence is an amazing location for a day trip, a photo session, or a place to escape for the weekend to. They always have events, their wine is amazing, and you'll forget where you are when you are surrounded by the vineyards, villas, oak trees, and rolling hills.
This particular outing, we were down there for a wine tasting event. They had their wines, other Texas wines, and choice wines from around the world. Everyone was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. There was a great duet singing while we were there too. I haven't been back to have their stone fire grilled pizzas, but it's on the short list of things to do soon!
Here's my beautiful family sampling some of the local wines at the main bar - there are all these great side rooms that would make beautiful sitting portraits.
Below is a sampling of some of the various backdrops available, all just outside of the main building. See what I mean? Gorgeous!
And in the "don't ever call us boring" style of this location, there was a stone carving competition going on!
