Frequently Asked Questions - Under Revision for San Antonio!

How do I book a shoot? What dates do you have available?

First, I’d love to talk with you! You can either contact me directly or send me a note from my contact page.

Ashley Jones – 254-300-6436 (text messages welcome), ashleyjonesphotographytx@gmail.com

You can check my availability here. If you're ready to reserve a session, select a date and time. You'll then be directed to my contract and then to PayPal for the $50 session deposit.  Or I can take care of all this for you when we talk!

Where do you take pictures?

I much prefer to take photos outside and in the early morning or the evening.  I can also photograph in your home, with or without a backdrop.  I live in the Killeen area but I am willing to travel about an hour from here.  If there’s something extra special outside of an hour, we can talk about it.  Some of the places I have done sessions at or want to do sessions at are:

How long will my session be?

That depends on what type of a session it is, it may be between 20 minutes to 3-4 hours. We’ll discuss this during your consult prior to contract signing, but I estimate the length of the session in the Services page.

Are you a licensed business?

Ashley Jones Photography is registered as a sole proprietorship with Bell County Texas and with the State of Texas and is a fully insured business for your protection and for mine.

What type of pictures can I expect? What style will my pictures be?

My personal style is a bright, crisp photo that shows the scene as it appears in your memory. My portfolio is an accurate representation of my work, that’s what you can expect.

How much editing do you do?

I can spend anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour on an image.  I'll always clean up distractions from a photo and of course enhance the scene to be as beautiful as bright and clear as possible.  I like to edit faces to remove any shadowing or blemishes, but to keep you from looking "overdone."  I clean up clothing wrinkles and puckers, and reduce shadows that unflattering.  We can always do more, or less, we'll talk at your photo preview session.

When is my full session amount due?  How can I pay?

Your full session amount is due prior to the start time of your session as indicated in your contract.  Because it is a PayPal payment, if you’d like to use the PayPal Bill Me Later option to make payments, that’s between you and PayPal, I’ll never know.  PayPal accepts debit, credit, and of course, PayPal accounts.

How many pictures will you take?  When will I get them?

I’m going to take anywhere from 30-300 photos.  Most of those will be test shots, photos that you’ve blinked in, and photos that just plain old don’t work.  As stated in my contract, I’m going to select the best photos to present to you.  If it’s a 20 min session, you may only get 10 amazing photos to choose from but if everyone is clicking well together, you might have 30-40 photos to pick from.

Photos will take between 1-4 weeks to edit and to prepare a preview session for you.  Once I've placed your print order, it may be an additional 3-7 days for your order to arrive.  If you need your photos sooner than that timeline, let me know at our first consult session.

Will I get to have all of the photos you take?

As I said above, most of the photos I take will not be released; I reserve the right to edit and release the images that I deem as professional in quality.  Out of the photos that I present to you after your shoot, you will be able to select your favorites.  Once you have purchased any prints, cards or other photo products you will then have a few options:

  • If digital images were included in your package, these will now be available for direct download.

  • If you’ve purchased a print larger than an 8x10, that photo, in high resolution (print) format is free for download in case something were to ever happen to that print.

  • If you've purchased a photo 8x10 or smaller, a photo as part of a collage, a card, or an album page, that photo, in low resolution (web) format is free for download.

  • I’ll share the favorites, yours and mine, on Facebook and my blog.  Your 2 low resolution, watermarked images for social media sharing (no printing rights) will then be available on Facebook. You may opt out of having these photos shared on the internet.

  • Other images will then be available for purchase and direct download from my website in low resolution (web) and high resolution (print) formats, without watermarks, and with a print release.

Please read here for why you really want prints, and not a digital file!
